A calming 16x20 oil painting featuring a gentle stream trickling toward the viewer, surrounded by vibrant trees in multiple colors.

Trickling Water is a 16×20 oil painting on canvas that invites you to breathe deeply and slow down. A gentle stream winds its way forward, its cool water meandering beneath a canopy of lush trees in a joyful mix of colors – blue, purple, pink, yellow, and green. Though the palette is bright, the feeling is pure calm.

Inspired loosely by an old tutorial and reinterpreted in my own style, this painting captures the serenity of nature’s small moments. The gentle trickle of the water hints at the kind of peace that comes not with grandeur, but with subtle beauty – the sound of slow-moving water, the rustle of leaves in the breeze, the stillness that quiets the mind.

This piece belongs in the Peace collection, meant to reflect those small, nourishing moments of stillness and natural harmony. Whether placed in a quiet corner or lively room, it offers a moment of pause and colorful path to calm.

The canvas sides are painted black for a clean, professional look, allowing for immediate display with or without a frame.

A golden sky glows above a golden stream with a distant house in this contemporary 16x20 oil painting on canvas - recognition of the stillness that fear sometimes leaves behind.

This 16×20 oil painting features a golden sky and serene stream gently flowing from the distance toward the viewer. Nestled in the background, almost unseen but present – is a small house – an image that feels safe, yet distant. Surrounding the stream are softly painted trees and pale embarkments, suggesting the hush of winter or emotional pause.

Inspired by an old tutorial but reimagined in my own style, this piece carries a weight of memory and introspection. A golden sky can often symbolize caution or fear, and here, it becomes a quiet metaphor for the moments we hold back – from hopes and dreams, from connection or even romance, from possibility. Regret’s Glow lives in the Nostalgia collection because it is about those turning points that were never taken, and the soft ache of wondering “what if.”

NOTE: There is a tiny, patched area in the back of this canvas. It’s not visible from the front, and the surface remains smooth and undisturbed. This piece is priced at $255 (reduced) to reflect that minor flaw in the canvas.

A vivid 16x20 oil painting full of rich greens and blues, Vibrancy celebrates the energy and inspiration that nature brings. Flowing water, lively trees and shrubbery, and bold brushstrokes invite the viewer to pause, reflect, and imagine.

This vibrant 16×20 oil painting is a joyful ode to nature’s power to inspire imagination and inner renewal. Painted in bold blues and greens, the scene features a lively collection of trees and bushes encircling a softly flowing stream. Its composition radiates optimism and vitality – an invitation to breathe deeply and dream freely.

Nature reminds us that life is always moving, growing, and adapting. As a school psychologist and artist (as well as a pet owner and mom!), I’ve often found that simply being surrounded by nature sparks creativity and new ideas – something I hope children and adults alike can hold onto. Whether you’re dreaming of a creative project, a life goal, or just a quiet moment of peace, Vibrancy encourages you to imagine what could be.

A hauntingly layered original oil painting that reflects how depression or grief can overshadow joy - yet a single flower starting to bloom reminds us there is hope.

Painted Over is a raw and emotionally layered 18×24 oil painting, built over a once-bright floral scene. In its current form, drooping black trees and brushstroke-heavy shadows dominate the landscape. Ghostlike steps in cool gray fade into the background, while a broken fence slumps across the foreground – visual metaphors for the weight of sadness, depression, or grief. Yet, at the center of that fence, a small flower begins to emerge, a sign of hope waiting for the right moment to grow.

This piece explores what it means to feel painted over – when past joy is covered by something heavier, something harder to name. As a school psychologist, the artist has seen how depression often hides in plain sight, including amongst our children. Teachers are often the first point of contact – a caring adult who notices a student has changed, quieted, become withdrawn. A conversation, a gesture, a connection can begin the return.

The flower in this painting represents that moment: the hand reaching out, the feeling of being seen again. Whether you’re the one offering help or the one needing it, Painted Over is a visual reminder that connection can be a lifeline – and hope is never entirely gone.

An 18x24 original painting of a bird mid-flight, returning to a flowering tree to build its nest. With a textured sky and abstract greenery below, this piece celebrates quiet acts of preparation and the hope woven into every new beginning.

In this 18×24 original oil painting, a bird soars toward a flowering tree, preparing to add to its growing nest. Below, soft greenery and loosely rendered trees hint at an abstracted world in motion. The sky of layered blues and muted grays offers both light and shadow – not a stormy forecast, but a reminder that even on bright days, depth and texture shape what we see.

As a school psychologist and a parent, I often think about what it takes to help a child thrive – how success in school and in life so often begins long before the first word is read or the first pencil is held. It begins with a sense of safety. Of belonging. Of knowing someone is looking out for you. Much like this bird, caregivers, educators, and mentors work steadily to prepare environments where young people can grow – emotionally, socially, and academically.

This piece honors that gentle, powerful instinct to build something lasting – whether you’re parenting, teaching, healing, or simply starting something new.

A Southern live oak cradles a sweet moment between generations - a woman gently pushes a child on a swing under moss-draped branches. This original oil painting invites reflection on the grace of stillness, tradition, and enduring love.

Framed beneath the arching limbs of a massive Southern live oak, this original 16×20 oil painting captures a fleeting but timeless moment: a grandmotherly figure pushing a young girl in a swing. The scene, inspired by a visit to Hilton Head, South Carolina, evokes the quiet reverence of days spent beneath the trees, surrounded by nature and love.

Spanish moss flows like silken memory from the branches, while distant purple hills and small desert plants root the scene in contrast and warmth. The composition honors the intergenerational bond between caregiver and child – no words needed, no crowd in sight, just a connection held in motion and shadow.

Placed in the Nostalgia category, this piece serves as a visual keepsake of tenderness and simplicity. It’s a gentle reminder of time slowed, of childhood laughter, and of the quiet caretakers who shape our earliest joys.

A monochromatic winter scene with soft lavender tones and a distant cabin, evoking stillness, distance, and memories.

This 16×20 oil painting, inspired by an early online tutorial, features a hushed winter scene in black and white. A small, solitary cabin sits in the distance under a sky that incorporates some purple tones and helps hint at a chill in the air. The side are painted black, offering a finished look from any angle.

Still Winter coneys separation from the noise of the world – not necessarily sorrowful or defiant, but contemplative. It speaks to those stretches in life when we pause, by choice or necessity, to gather strength or seek temporary isolation to think clearly or connect with our spiritual side. Whether it’s a need for solitude or self-preservation, this piece invites a sense of stillness with emotional undertones that are open to interpretation.

A solitary boat rests above a quiet glow - an image of isolation, grace, and the quiet strength of something greater holding you steady.

In this 30×40 oil painting, a lone sailboat floats through dark, reflective waters – surrounded by muted red and green tones, shadowed below, and a sky layered with pastel clouds. At the heart of the sky, soft yellow tones suggest warmth or memory, while in the upper right, the clouds begin to thin – offering the faint suggestion of a clearing ahead. Behind the boat, brown hills stretch quietly across the horizon, bridging the darkness below with the sky’s brighter reach.

There is no sailor. No shadow. No movement. Just presence.

And beneath the boat, a faint, steady glow. A narrow line of light, resting directly beneath the hull. It does not trail. It does not spread. It simply holds.

This painting speaks to the emotional weight of nostalgia – those seasons of life when we drift alone, uncertain, or weary. And yet, even in the quietest, darkest stretches, something keeps us from sinking. Sometimes it’s the memory of joy, a flicker of gratitude, spiritual connection, or the strength to keep going simply because we have before.

*Let this piece remind you that even when life feels unmoored, you are not drifting alone. There may be light right beneath you – steady, sacred, and just enough.*

“Imagine” is a 30×40 inch original acrylic painting on canvas, created in reverence to the unknown – a space that holds dreams, questions, and quiet hope. Inspired in part by the song “I Can Only Imagine” by Mercy Me, this piece reflects on the mysteries beyond what we can see or explain.

It’s an emotional and visual exploration of faith, wonder, and the moments where words fall short but feeling remains.

Meow! A striking black panther stares forward - alert, intense, and ready. This painting channels instinct, focus, and the quiet tension before bold action.

Unshaken is a 16×20 acrylic painting on canvas that captures a black panther in a moment of charged stillness. With piercing yellow eyes and a slightly parted mouth, the panther’s expression holds energy and awareness – watching, waiting, ready to act. A few blades of bright green grass frame the scene, offering contrast to the darkness of the fur and background.

Though it began as a painting exercise, this piece took on deeper meaning during its time hanging in my school psychology office. One day, a young boy with autism became quietly captivated by it. His connection to the panther’s presence was powerful; he seemed to study the painting but did not fear it. With his mother’s permission, I later gifted him second version – one of the most rewarding moments I’ve experienced through art.

A photo of that version just for him can be seen on my Instagram account (Click the link on the home page.) and on my gallery page.

Unshaken is a portrait of instinct, confidence, and presence – the kind of inner strength that doesn’t need to roar to be heard.

*This painting was inspired by a tutorial from Michelle the Painter on YouTube, whose encouragement of fellow artists makes this version possible.
