But, it’s the foreground that holds the story: vibrant tiger lilies, lilacs, buttercups, and fresh grasses gather in front of a wooden wall. My mother has long loved tiger lilies, and while I painted this piece, my cat – now long gone – sat nearby, a silent companion in those early creative days.
